Frequently Asked Questions

How is your jewelry different from mass-produced pieces?

It is hand made by ME! Each piece is carefully thought out and then lovingly made. My jewlery is unique and one-of-a-kind. You won’t see it on anyone else.

What materials are used to make your handcrafted jewelry?

I use many different materials. My earwires on my earrings are sterling silver. Almost all of my clasps are either fine silver or sterling silver. I use semi-preious stone, glass, sterling silver, Swarovski crystal, shell, wood, and fine silver beads to make my earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Some of my “stretchy” bracelets have silver plated beads.

My wire jewelry is either sterling silver wire or copper wire. I have dabbled in colored coppper wire, such as, red, pink, purple…I will also do custom jewelry for you. If you like a piece but want it in gold I can price the gold for you…or I can make it out of gold colored german wire.

Do you offer customization options for your jewelry?

Yes! I will gladly make something longer or shorter for you. If you like a piece but want a different color, we can collaborate on the piece. I can send pictures of the materials I have ect… I want you to feel special when wearing a piece of my jewelry, so I will go out of my way to customize it for you.

Can I request a repair for a damaged piece of jewelry?

Of course! Things happen and I stand behind my jewelry.  Did your stretchy bracelet break? Save the pieces, send them to me, and I will re-string it for you and send it back. Lose an earring? Send it to me and I can either make it into a necklace or make you another earring (if I still have the beads that were originally used). Repairs are usually free unless a great number of additional componenets are needed. Then I may need to chareg a small fee.

How can I care for and clean my handcrafted jewelry?

The bracelets that are mostly glass can be wiped off with a damp cloth. If really dirty you can gentley wash it with warm water and a mild dish soap.

The pieces that have natural and or semi-precious stones can also be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners as they will damage softer stones and things like pearls and shell beads.

Always put on your jewelry AFTER you get dressed, do your hair and makeup to avoid getting things like perfume or hairspray on the piece as that may discolor the metals or damage things like pearls. Store your jewelry in a jewelry box or in you sock or underware drawer. Leaving it exposed to the elements, like sun, humidity etc… makes silver tarnish faster.  I have an extended blog post about caring for your jewelry and cleaning your jewelry naturally here.

How do I determine my ring size or bracelet size?

The way I have people do it is to cut a piece of yarn or string to the bracelet length you feel comfortable with. Then you can either meassure it and tell me the length you need or you can send me the string.

For a ring use the string technique but definately send me the string!

Do you offer beginner-friendly tutorials or classes for making sterling silver jewelry?

Not at this time but I will always answer questions and steer you in the right direction. I have many sources for materials and tutorials. I love sharing my knowledge!
